Birthday Card - STB

Hello there!

In today's post, I am sharing another colorful birthday card !

This one is for the 200th challenge at seizethebirthday challenges. I've been playing at STB for a while now, so definitely wanted to enter their 200th prompt.

I was inspired by the colors in their logo. For this card, I have used the iron off embossed resist technique that I learnt from Jennifer McGuire's youtube video. 

Here's how I made it:

I lightly ink blended my watercolour paper. Then stamped the hero arts bold background stamp with versamark and heat embossed using clear embossing powder. 

Next, I swiped across the distress inks. I used DO for the purple color. I generously sprayed water and air dried the panel. 


On drying, I wiped off the whitish residue of the DO with a baby wipe, a tip I got to know from Cathy It did help, but I still feel distress ink would have been better. Guess it's time I got one for myself in the violet-purple color range. Which one should I go for? Wilted violet, dusty concord or seedless preserves?

Next, I ironed off the embossing from the panel. Placed my sentiment (mft stamps) and a die cut (sss dahlia stem) around the sentiment.

    Gorgeous card Ana, love the sound of the iron off resist technique, I haven't tried that but it sure looks great! Glad the baby wipe tip helped too :) I love purples so can't help you choose just one lol! Thankyou for playing along at Seize the Birthday, have a great week, Cathy x

 Hello friends! Happy Monday!  I'm back with another birthday card today and I'm playing along with a few challenges. The pattern on the moodboard at inkspirational challenge took me to a kaiserkraft stencil in my stash. I used the stencil and distress inks to create the stenciled pattern at the center of the card. I sprayed some water over it to allow the distress inks to react. I adore butterflies and I wanted to use them as an element of freedom for the ATCAS challenge. I heat embossed a butterfly image with a contrasting embossing powder- color blend verdigris from WOW, so that it stands out against the stencil pattern. AAA birthday Game #50- GD post

Hello lovely friends!  I'm delighted and honored to be guest designing at the AAA Birthday challenge blog this month.   The theme for this month is 'Water colours' and here is my card: I used the flora background stamp from simon says stamp. I heat embossed it using versamark and WOW white embossing powder. I used zig clean brush pens to watercolour the image.  I wanted the sentiment to stand out on the busy and bright background. My first instinct was to place vellum underneath the sentiment. But the background did not mellow down enough with 110gsm vellum I used. So, I stamped the background image on cardstock, lightly watercoloured it and die cut a circle which I placed beneath my die cut sentiment from simon says stamp. I had so much fun creating this card. Birthday Card

  Hello crafty friends! I'm sharing a birthday card in today's post.  I had this stencil from kaiser craft in my stash and I never got a chance to use it. Used it today and created a background with distress inks. I stamped & coloured the Birthday cake (Reverse confetti) and die cut the stamped image.  The sentiment is from MFT.
