Card with scraps

 Hello friends! 

We all have this bunch of tiny pieces of papers that are saved to be used someday. And that day never arrives! I've stored such paper pieces, die cuts, sentiments etc. I made a birthday card today with a few of these scraps.

The Leaves, sentiment and the white cardstock are all elements I stored but never used. The leaves were originally coloured light green with distress inks. I damped them with a wet tissue to take off most of the green and then coloured them again with zig brush markers. They took up the colors so beautifully.  Sentiment was just an extra. 

The white cardstock actually has a stamped watercolored image on the other side that I didn't like. I dry embossed it using a stencil.

So this was my stash of leftover elements. Can you spot the green leaves I used for this card in the top left bunch? 

I also made a few tags with these which is a great way to use them up.

    OMG! Those leaves are incredible! As I type this I am in the Georgia mountains and I have been collecting fall leaves all day! This card really speaks to me today! Thanks for playing along at Seize the Birthday!

 Hello friends! Happy Monday!  I'm back with another birthday card today and I'm playing along with a few challenges. The pattern on the moodboard at inkspirational challenge took me to a kaiserkraft stencil in my stash. I used the stencil and distress inks to create the stenciled pattern at the center of the card. I sprayed some water over it to allow the distress inks to react. I adore butterflies and I wanted to use them as an element of freedom for the ATCAS challenge. I heat embossed a butterfly image with a contrasting embossing powder- color blend verdigris from WOW, so that it stands out against the stencil pattern. I placed the stamped sentiment (kaisercraft) at the centre. AAA birthday Game #50- GD post

Hello lovely friends!  I'm delighted and honored to be guest designing at the AAA Birthday challenge blog this month.   The theme for this month is 'Water colours' and here is my card: I used the flora background stamp from simon says stamp. I heat embossed it using versamark and WOW white embossing powder. I used zig clean brush pens to watercolour the image.  I wanted the sentiment to stand out on the busy and bright background. My first instinct was to place vellum underneath the sentiment. But the background did not mellow down enough with 110gsm vellum I used. So, I stamped the background image on cardstock, lightly watercoloured it and die cut a circle which I placed beneath my die cut sentiment from simon says stamp. I had so much fun creating this card. Birthday Card

  Hello crafty friends! I'm sharing a birthday card in today's post.  I had this stencil from kaiser craft in my stash and I never got a chance to use it. Used it today and created a background with distress inks. I stamped & coloured the Birthday cake (Reverse confetti) and die cut the stamped image.  The sentiment is from MFT.
