Guest designer- Timeout challenges


Hello! I Hope everyone’s doing well.

I’m thrilled to be the guest designer for the timeoutchallenges! This is my first time as the GD and I’m so excited to be a part of this challenge.
This time, its is a photo inspiration challenge generously sponsored by Uniko and here’s the image:
Here's a closer look:

There’s so much in this image, patterns, florals, tassels! So much to choose from. The black & white stripes  stood out for me. I've seen crafters use stripes so beautifully in their cards, I totally wanted to make something with the stripes.

And then I realized, that I don’t own any black & white striped paper! Amidst the lockdown here, buying striped paper wasn't an option. So I decided to make it!

I used 5mm paper quilling strips from my stash to make a striped panel. On either sides of this panel are paper strips embossed with gold embossing powder. Here's my finished card:

I used the Uniko freebie digital stamp from the fabulous florals collection. I heat embossed the image with white embossing powder and coloured them with copics. I fussy cut the florals and arranged them on the card.

I placed my sentiment on a gold embossed die cut panel (sizzix die) and embossing with some rainbow pearls.

    This is one stunning card Ana and I just love how creative you have been with the black and white panel plus adding that touch of gold is inspired. Love how you placed the flower and amazing colouring. So good to have you as our GD xx

    This is so pretty! I love how you used the black and white pattern against the colorful flower. Your coloring on the flower is so nice and I particularly like the color blending on the leaves. So great to have you join us at guest designer!

    This looks amazing! How is heat embossing with digis possible, is there some special ink for printing them that will catch the embossing powder? Would love to hear how you make it! Love your diy black and white stripes paper and this while card is just stunning! Thank you for being an inspiring GD at Time Out. xx

      Many thanks for your kind words Nonni! After printing, I only traced the image with an embossing pen and then heat embossed using embossing powder.

    This is gorgeous, Ana. I had the same question as Nonni. What a wonderful idea and it turned out beautifully. Your DIY striped paper looks fantastic too, and I love the gold that you incorporated into your design. Wonderful creation. It's wonderful to have you with us at Guest Designer.

    Congratulations on your GD gig!! This is STUNNING!! I LOVE that DIY striped paper. I want to try to do this but afraid I would mess it up. The touches of gold just make it POP!!

CAS bday card

 Hello friends! Happy Monday!  I'm back with another birthday card today and I'm playing along with a few challenges. The pattern on the moodboard at inkspirational challenge took me to a kaiserkraft stencil in my stash. I used the stencil and distress inks to create the stenciled pattern at the center of the card. I sprayed some water over it to allow the distress inks to react. I adore butterflies and I wanted to use them as an element of freedom for the ATCAS challenge. I heat embossed a butterfly image with a contrasting embossing powder- color blend verdigris from WOW, so that it stands out against the stencil pattern. I placed the stamped sentiment (kaisercraft) at the centre. AAA birthday Game #50- GD post

Hello lovely friends!  I'm delighted and honored to be guest designing at the AAA Birthday challenge blog this month.   The theme for this month is 'Water colours' and here is my card: I used the flora background stamp from simon says stamp. I heat embossed it using versamark and WOW white embossing powder. I used zig clean brush pens to watercolour the image.  I wanted the sentiment to stand out on the busy and bright background. My first instinct was to place vellum underneath the sentiment. But the background did not mellow down enough with 110gsm vellum I used. So, I stamped the background image on cardstock, lightly watercoloured it and die cut a circle which I placed beneath my die cut sentiment from simon says stamp. I had so much fun creating this card. Birthday Card

  Hello crafty friends! I'm sharing a birthday card in today's post.  I had this stencil from kaiser craft in my stash and I never got a chance to use it. Used it today and created a background with distress inks. I stamped & coloured the Birthday cake (Reverse confetti) and die cut the stamped image.  The sentiment is from MFT.
