DT post #IQCG81 : Rainbow

Image
Hello everyone! I Hope you are doing well. I always thought that using more colors made my artwork messy. Not so long ago I realized I was wrong. I am amazed at how bright and elegant rainbow colors look in an artwork and this months theme is just perfect for the new design team at iqcg to step in. So excited to be a part of the team. Here's my work for the Indian quilling challenge #IQCG81. The theme for this month is rainbow. I filled up my guitar with all the colours. Do participate and link up your take on this challenge here . Thank you so much for stopping by. Stay safe and take care. ~Ana

Quilled art

Image
Hello there, The art of paper quilling is very dear to me. I started with quilling back in 2010 (at a very small scale, for friends and family). Now with the advent of social media, blogs and Instagram, I've come across so much talent and inspiration. I'm amazed at how artists create wonders with this form of art.  Here are my humble artworks for the  Indian quilling challenge DT call . : The first one is a custom made Birthday card with France theme. A quilled butterfly made for one of the iqcg challenges last year And lastly, quilled typography  Thanks for stopping by. ~Ana

Card with scraps

Image
Hello friends!  We all have this bunch of tiny pieces of papers that are saved to be used someday. And that day never arrives! I've stored such paper pieces, die cuts, sentiments etc. I made a birthday card today with a few of these scraps. The Leaves, sentiment and the white cardstock are all elements I stored but never used. The leaves were originally coloured light green with distress inks. I damped them with a wet tissue to take off most of the green and then coloured them again with zig brush markers. They took up the colors so beautifully.  Sentiment was just an extra.  The white cardstock actually has a stamped watercolored image on the other side that I didn't like. I dry embossed it using a stencil. Playing along with  seizethebirthday #201 So this was my stash of leftover elements. Can you spot the green leaves I used for this card in the top left bunch?  I also made a few tags with these which is a great way to use them up. Thanks for stopp...

What I've discovered is that intimate connection and communication with my creator will always get me through because I know my support, my help, is just a prayer away. (Iyanla Vanzant) Hello friends I hope you all are well. I have a watercoloured card in today's post: I heat embossed the stamped image using Ranger gold embossing powder and watercolored it using zig clean brush markers. I so love the bright result these markers give on watercolour paper. I actually messed up the background with a brownish shade which looked terrible! So I covered it with black. I placed the heat embossed scalloped frame on the watercoloured panel. The rest of the card is watercoloured blue and on drying, I stamped it with distress ink. I die cut another frame at the border of the card using the blue background. Playing  along at t...
